Opportunity to Help Our Israeli Sisters and Brothers

Join with congregants from several local synagogues to sponsor an ambulance for Magen David Adom (MDA) through the American Friends of Magen David Adom (AFMDA). These sponsorships ensure that MDA is fully equipped and prepared to respond to “typical” medical emergencies, but most importantly, to crises such as the horrific Hamas terrorist attack on October 7th. AFMDA is hoping to raise the necessary $115,000 by December 31, 2023. Participating congregations will be inscribed on ambulance doors and donors contributing $10,000+ may have their family names inscribed as well. A local dedication ceremony will be held for participating congregations and donors.

MDA is not government funded and relies on donors to fund its lifesaving ambulances. It was founded in 1930 to offer emergency medical services for Jews prior to modern-day Israel. In 1950, the Knesset passed a law making MDA the national emergency medical service and sole provider of the blood supply. Since then, MDA has become Israel’s representative to the International Red Cross and grown to be one of the most highly respected emergency medical services in the world. If you would like to participate as a Park Synagogue congregant, visit www.parksynagogue.org/donate.
