When you pay your Park Synagogue dues, you are making a substantial charitable gift – THANK YOU!

Unlike many synagogues, Park does not have an annual fundraising campaign. We do, fortunately, have many donors who voluntarily give annual gifts in addition to dues. We deeply appreciate those members who make gifts in any amount to support our congregation. Without them, we would still have religious services, but it is probable that we would not enjoy enhanced holiday celebrations, Shabbat dinners, Kiddush luncheons, affinity group activities, a beautiful new synagogue and outdoor space in which to come together.

Three societies were created in appreciation of donors. Solomon Society recognizes those who give between $1,000 and $4,999 (in addition to dues) annually. David Society acknowledges donors who give between $5,000 and $9,999, and Crown Society distinguishes donors who give $10,000 or more each year.

At any point in your life, you may find yourself with circumstances that inhibit your ability to pay dues. When members become ill or find themselves out of work, Park’s leadership uses its discretion and, confidentially, may adjust dues as a direct result of these generous gifts.

Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on our blessings. As a longtime members of Park, my connection, though always heartfelt, ranged from being at Park several times a week to showing up only occasionally. But these are lifelong ties that bind. This year, I am especially grateful to have joined Park Synagogue’s staff as development director – once again thinking about and being at Park all the time! As a social worker and then a fundraiser in Jewish Cleveland, I have seen first hand how generosity and caring has created and sustained our extraordinary community. This must not be taken for granted.

This Thanksgiving, although your dues may be paid, think about your connection to Park, reflecting on the role the synagogue plays in your family's’ lives. As you make your final donations of 2023, we would love to welcome you into one of Park’s giving societies.
