Take an armchair trip to Taiwan for a
Virtual Tour of The Jeffrey D. Schwartz Community Center of Taiwan
Sunday, May 5 • 7:30 pm • Zoom
Take a tour on Zoom with Jeffrey Schwartz of the magnificent award-winning Jewish Community Center of Taiwan. Inspired by his Jewish education as a bar mitzvah and confirmand at Park Synagogue in the 1960’s, Jeffrey, and his wife NaTang, founded the 22,500 square foot Jeffrey D. Schwartz Jewish Community Center in 2022 to create a dedicated space for the small, but vibrant, Jewish community in Taiwan.
The Jewish Community Center also gives the broader community a special place to engage with the Jewish community, create good relations, and learn more about Judaism. The Jewish Taiwan Cultural Association, a non-profit which Jeffrey and NaTang also founded, serves to also build bridges between Taiwan and Israel and the global Jewish community.
We will tour the building which includes a beautiful sanctuary with exceptional biblical murals, a mikveh, Kosher Culinary Lab (kitchen & dining space), banquet rooms, a kindergarten, classrooms for adult education, a Jewish museum, and wonderful colorful mosaics. Please join us for a fascinating tour of this magnificent building which has already won three prestigious architectural awards.
Free and open to Park Synagogue and general community.
Pre-registration is required by May 2 to receive the Zoom link. Register on the Park website or Weekly Wrap or by emailing Ellen Petler at epetler@parksyn.org.
