“Facing the Fray: Navigating Campus in the Wake of October 7th.”
Alex Kaufman is the Director of Jewish Life at Hillel of San Diego. Since October 7th, he has been supporting students who are on the frontlines battling antisemitism on college campuses. Alex will share personal anecdotes from the experiences of someone who has been on the ground working with college students daily. In his two years, Alex has lead 3 delegations of students both Jewish and non Jewish to explore Israel education, including most recently in May of 2024 during the ongoing war. On campus he has supported students with speech writing and speaking up at dozens of student government meetings, rallies, counter protests and maintaining their sense of Jewish pride in this turbulent time.
