Ilanit Gerblich Kalir, Vice President of External Affairs and
Ella Caspi, Community Shalicha (Emissary) will speak on:

“Supporting Israel in Crisis”

Ilanit Gerblich Kalir is Vice President of External Affairs and Managing Director of the Department of International Operations at the Jewish Federation of Cleveland. In that capacity, Ilanit manages all the Federation’s programs in Israel and Russia.

Prior to her position at JFC, Ilanit was the Associate Executive Director for AVODAH: The Jewish Service Corps, in New York City. Other positions she has held include Acting Director of the non-profit organization New Israel Fund, and Director of International Relations at the World Union of Progressive Judaism. She has also worked as a Parliamentary Research Assistant in the British Parliament in London, and as a Public Affairs Coordinator at the Israeli Consulate in Boston. Ilanit has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Brandeis University and a master’s degree in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics. She has lived in Israel, is fluent in Hebrew, and spent time in Russia and Ukraine.

Ella Caspi, Cleveland’s community Shalicha (emissary from Israel), who arrived in Cleveland from Israel to work at the Jewish Federation on October 6, the day before the October 7th attack. She will share her personal story.
