Degas & the Laundress: Women, Work, and Impressionism

Take a docent-guided tour of the Cleveland Museum of Art’s upcoming exhibit, Degas & the Laundress: Women, Work, and Impressionism, the first to explore Degas’s and other Impressionist artists representations of Parisian laundresses. Degas alone created about 30 depictions of laundresses, united for the first time for this exhibit. Degas’ contemporaries, including Morisot, Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec, Picasso and others also found this subject fascinating and their works are also included in the exhibit. After the tour, stay for lunch in the Museum Café (cost on your own), if you want.
