County Council Meeting

Calling Park Congregants!

At the most recent County Council meeting on January 28, 2025, Jewish attendees were verbally assaulted by the anti-Israel protesters, including being told they ‘smell’ and to ‘go die’ among other equally vile comments. You can find the statement from the Jewish Federation here.

These comments, combined with other acts of intimidation directed at Jewish Clevelanders at County Council meetings and other public meetings over the past year, make clear that these “protesters” sole agenda is to fan the flames of hatred of Jews in Cleveland. The Jewish community has been a proud part of Cleveland’s fabric since the 1800s and we will not allow anyone to make us feel unwelcome in the city we love. Likewise, we will not allow any efforts to silence us or intimidate us from participating in the democratic process at these public meetings.

We are strongly encouraging attendance at the next Council meeting on February 11th to either make your voice heard by speaking during the public comment period or attending to show support for those who do speak. Please sign up using the link below.

The bus will be leaving from Federation at 3:45pm, and returning before 7pm. For those of you who would like to drive by yourself, you can park at 900 Prospect Ave and get your parking validated via County office staff.

There will be an informational zoom offered on Monday, February 10th at 8pm for the following days meeting.
