Park Synagogue is again participating in the Cleveland Jewish Book Festival, sponsored by the Mandel JCC. The Festival is celebrating its 25th Anniversary and many author appearances took place in November, 2024. The “second chapter” begins in March and will include six author appearances at the JCC and in our community.
In partnership with the Laura & Alvin Siegal Lifelong Learning Program, Park’s Robert Leitson Family Lecture Fund and The Senkfor Library, Park is proud to present and host author Daniel Shulman at Park on Tuesday, March 4 at 7:30 pm to speak about his book The Money Kings: The Epic Story of the Jewish Immigrants Who Transformed Wall Street and Shaped Modern American. The many German-Jewish immigrants whose names are so familiar – Goldman, Sachs, Warburg and Schiff -- profoundly influenced the rise of modern finance as they forged their paths to Wall Street dominance. Schulman’s book explains the origin stories of those great Jewish banking families. His detailed account of how these determined men made their marks and their fortunes on Wall Street is revealed here.
“The Money Kings is more than just a riveting unraveling of the history of high finance in America. It gives voice to the Jewish peddlers who remade Wall Street, debunks antisemitic conspiracy theories, and offers inspiration to new generations of big-dreaming immigrants.” –Larry Tye, author.
